Friends for Wellbeing: Mindfulness for Wellbeing

2nd September @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Save the date! Our next event will take place on 2nd September 2017 at 2pm until 3:30pm at the Clifton Library in Bristol.

Our Mindfulness Lead Dr Julia Wallond will speak to the Friends about how Mindfulness-based approaches can support your health and wellbeing.

Julia will give an overview of the Mindfulness courses offered by the Portland Centre and you will have the opportunity to explore and practice Mindfulness directly in some guided meditations and exercises. There will be time for questions at the end and a list of recommended resources you can try at home. She will also be available to speak to after the session.

Julia writes: “Cultivating mindful awareness involves attending to your moment-by moment experience with curiosity and kindness. Over time it can help you discover wells of peace and happiness within yourself, and help you understand and release from internal patterns of stress and painful thinking. It can be a helpful support to living with health conditions by increasing your self-awareness and encouraging wise and compassionate self-care.”

Who might benefit from this afternoon?
